BRENDAN O’CONNOR: Well that’s not true, and the problem is, the group think amongst journalists is quite remarkable in this area. I have to tell you that what I’ve said is that we’ve seen declines in real and nominal wages, where there’s been a spike in 457 use in, for example, IT occupations.
We’ve seen also significant problems in all sectors. We’ve seen a 100 per cent increase in the retail sector, when there’s only been a 1 per cent increase in employment growth in that sector.
We’ve seen massive growth in areas where there is not commensurate growth in terms of the general employment numbers.
