Summary: Amends the Education Services for Overseas Students Act 2000 and Education Services for Overseas Students (Registration Charges) Act 1997 to: require the re-registration of all institutions currently registered on the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students by 31 December 2010; introduce two new registration criteria; require providers to maintain and publish a list of persons/agents who represent them; provide the minister with a discretion to enable a suspended provider to accept monies in certain circumstances; enable national alignment of regulatory actions; and provide for regulations to be made in relation to: providers’ agents, and criteria to be applied when consideration is given to whether a course is a suitable alternative course.
