Ausztrália  a világ oktatási-piacán harmadik helyezett. A külföldre menő diákok 7%-a ide jön. 2014-ben közel 300 ezer külföldi diák kezdi meg tanulmányait Ausztráliában, a többség a felsőoktatásban. Az oktatási export értéke 15 milliárd dollár, a vasérc, a szén és arany után a harmadik a sorban.
